Using GiftR
What can I Order?
Anything a local Shop on GiftR sells: Flowers, baked goods, Coffee, Donuts, Treats, Food Truck meals. Order it once, or set it to repeat every weekday, every week, or every year.
Where is GiftR available?
Every town is open. GiftR works wherever local Shops have joined and been approved, so the Shops you can choose from grow as more join near you.
What does it cost?
You pay the Shop's own price, the Shop's Delivery fee if they charge one, and sales tax. GiftR adds no markup and no service fee.
Can I skip the line?
Yes. For Pickup Orders, like Coffee or a Food Truck lunch, choose a time and your Order is ready when you get there.
Who delivers?
The Shop does, the way it already does for its own Customers. Some deliver free, some charge a fee, and some are Pickup only. You see which before you Order.
Can I change, pause or skip a Standing Order?
Any time before it's made. If a Shop changes its price, you approve the new price before the next Order goes through.
What if the Shop can't fill my Order?
A Shop that can't fill an Order has to say so at least 3 days ahead, and you're told right away so there's time to choose something else.
Can I send a Gift with a card?
Yes. Add the person, their address and a card message once, and the Shop includes it with every Delivery.
For Shops
How do I join?
Join the Shop waitlist from any town. We review your Shop, and once you're approved you download GiftR for Shops and start taking Orders.
What does it cost to join?
Nothing. GiftR takes 12% of the item price plus your Delivery fee, and never touches tax. There are no GiftR monthly or listing fees. Square's standard card processing applies.
Do I need Square?
Yes. GiftR takes payments only through Square, so every Shop needs a Square account. If you don't have one, it's free to set up.
How do I get paid?
Payments go straight to your own Square account, on your usual Square schedule. GiftR's fee is split off at the same moment, so GiftR never holds your money.
What do I need to apply?
Your Shop name, address, email, logo, and a Square account. After you're approved, you'll add photos of what you make, your hours and your prices.
Do I have to deliver?
No. Deliver with your own Driver, offer free Delivery, or be Pickup only. GiftR isn't a Delivery service, and how you pay your Driver is between you and them.
Can I set my own prices?
Yes, and we ask that your GiftR price matches your in-store price. That's what keeps Customers ordering week after week.
What are the Driver tools?
An optional $20 a month for unlimited Drivers and unlimited deliveries, with no per-Order fees. Orders go straight to your Drivers' phones in route Order with maps, Drivers take a Delivery photo, Customers see live status, and GiftR keeps a record of each Driver's pay. See Driver tools.
What tools come free?
Every Shop gets availability controls (open days, blackout dates, daily capacity per Shop and per item, Delivery or Pickup windows, and service radius), projections for the next 12 months, item costs and margins, and simple inventory with back-in-stock dates, at no extra cost. Earnings, payouts, costs and projections are visible to the owner only. See the tools.
Who is responsible for my Drivers?
You are. Drivers work for your Shop, not GiftR. Every Driver must be 18 or older, licensed to drive, and carry the insurance the law and your Shop require. You set and pay them directly, and you're responsible for following employment, tax and local laws where you operate. Drivers also confirm their age, license and insurance when they accept GiftR's Driver terms in the app.
What if I get too busy?
Set daily limits, closed days and vacation blackouts. GiftR won't book you past them.
